The community Soderstorf is being formed by its hilly landscape with large areas for agricultural or forestry usage, mixed and pine forests and small heather surfaces. During hikes through the open countryside one can admire Lower Saxony's second largest natural spring, the Schwinde spring near Schwindebeck.
