Opposite the St. Johannis church is one of the most impressive buildings of the place, the present Industry and Trade Chamber. The renaissance building from the year 1548 with its decorative double gables has fulfilled the most diverse functions in its well over 400 years of existence. It was used as a brewery, pub, retail business and state bank before it took over its present function after the 2nd World War.
